ALL THE ENERGY OF THE WHO FRIDAY JULY THE 28TH AT RE-WOODSTOCK WITH “THE SUBSTITUTES”

The Substitutes, The Who’s tribute, will close the re-woodstock grand-opening, They take their name from al old The Who’s single hit, a goup of veteran musicians from Reggio Emilia, aimend by a great passion for british sound born between ‘60s and ‘70s and their willing to recreate the unique sound using musical instruments from that time.

Born in the 2000, they performed in houdred concerts all over Italy, they have been headliner of “My Generation Day” in 2002 and main act in the “The Who Italia” official conventions and the various mod convention in Italy.

In May 2011 they’ve been choosen to represent “The Who” at the “Tribute Band Show”, a Sky tv tribute bands dedicate broadcast.

The Who concert was one of the most unforgettable and complicated concert of the Woodstock festival. They were expected for the Saturday, before Jefferson Airplane, they performed the day after at 4:00 AM.

The exhibition was briefly interrupted by Abbie Hoffman, in the end thrown down the stage by Peter Townshend hitting him by guitar.

The English band performed almost totally his rock piece “Tommy”, history of an blind, deaf and mute boy, who become a sort of Messiah. When they performed the song “See me, feel me” when Tommy recovers his senses, on Woodstock is the beginning of the day and symbolically the Sun rises.
